[AU -- *spoilers*] Sora/Kaito

As it sometimes does come to pass, a counselor finds himself wanting a bit of time to himself, some time where he can let relax his guard a little and let the buzz in his head just sound itself out.

So that's why Takeuchi Sora is currently in an unoccupied cabin, one that one would assume is one of the outposts constructed by the camp patrols, given its smaller size and non-central location. Anyone who happened to walk in might not even notice him at first -- and then would only see a young man sitting calmly, presumably enjoying the peace and quiet.

"You couldn't have set this up."

Propping the door open with a foot, Kaito reaches for his pack of cigarettes and knocks one loose, pulling it out with his teeth. With his free hand he reaches slowly through the threshold of the door, not seeming to encounter any resistance.

"Ooh, was that just an insult? I expect better from you, man!"

He turns his wheelchair a little so that he can more easily watch Kaito feeling up the doorway.

"I mean, if you wanna hang out so bad, you can just say. I'd been plannin' on some alone time but, hey, I can handle a change in plans."

"As if I'd spend an instant of my freetime hanging out with bugs."

Kaito sounds distracted though, as if Sora for once really isn't worth his time, and after a moment of not encountering any sort of barrier over the door, walks out again. And immediately comes back.

"Tch." Finding his lighter and lighting up, Kaito moves free of the doorway and gesturely almost boredly at it. "You try."

There really aren't many more things that Kaito could say that could be any more trivially problematic than that, momentarily setting at war conflicting instincts of rebelling against somebody trying to tell him what to do and stepping up to any challenge raised against him. But it's the latter, with its reinforcements of the sheer hilarity of Kaito not being able to walk out the fucking door, that wins. He wheels across the room at a leisurely pace, heading out the door...

"Fine, fine, I'm outta here. Ain't my problem if..."

For all the fun Sora had at watching Kaito unable to leave, Kaito doesn't look amused at the situation at all. Sucking lightly on his cigarette, he eyes the doorway like a new, viable adversary. One whose buttons he hasn't discovered yet.

Of course, the best way to figure anything out was to try it out in a variety of ways. Lifting one foot, Kaito shoves it against the chair between Sora's legs, to send him rolling back out the door again, this time backwards.

And the chair comes rolling right back into the cabin, at the same momentum, smacking into Kaito. Backwards.

"JESUS FUCKIN' CHRIST, MAN."

Kaito takes a step backwards as Sora's chair bounces off him. "Shit. What the hell is this?" Looking for an other possible exit, Kaito eyes one of the cabin's windows. It was big enough to jump through, if necessary. "Try that."

"You fuckin' jump out the window, man. I ain't one of your Winds bitches."

And, being the obstinate sort of young man that he is, Sora tries the door again.

Kaito watches Sora kill braincells playing with the door for a few more seconds before walking over to the bed and taking a seat. He's going to need another cigarette soon.

"When you get sick of wasting your time on that. Try the window."

It takes a few more tries, but Sora does eventually decide that the door probably isn't going to give in to him. (For now, at least.) Shooting the door a nasty look, he sits back in his chair for a moment before leaning forward to apparently start fiddling with his sneakers.

"You like makin' everyone else do your work for you, don't ya?"

"You scumbags live to vandalize property, you might as well be useful about it for once."

"Haha, now that's a low blow! If I didn't know you, Kaito, you'd be breakin' my heart right now."

The words come out as some sort of jackass reflex, his attention being almost entirely focused on getting rid of his shoes and socks, which get shoved into a corner of the wheelchair seat, and a process that produces the obvious sounds of something mechanical being clicked into place.

Kaito drops his cigarette butt to the ground, stomps on it and fishes out another. He's not particularly shy about watching Sora's legs, locking onto what glimpses of metal he can catch between pants and working hands, though no real interest shows on his face.

As Sora moves to work on the other foot, the first one gives a small kick -- and unless Kaito has a really good grip on that cigarette or really, really quick reflexes, it's probably going to get blown out of his hand.

While Kaito scrapes long, silver hair out of his face, he watches his cigarette as it flies out of his hand and is smacked into a wall across the room. His expression could be described as unimpressed. "You need all that to break through a fucking window?"

"My bad! Foot must've slipped."

He stands up, turning to face Kaito, shit-eating grin well in place.

"Ha, hell, no. It's more fun this way, though."

Obviously amusing himself a good deal, he rolls over to position himself across the room from one of the windows. A window that, one kick later, no longer exists. And in short order, Sora is heading out the empty space where the window used to be.

...and then heading back in.

"Well." As Sora flies back in through the same window he flew out of, Kaito looks down to dig out another cigarette, not even bothering to see if Sora catches himself before smacking into the adjacent wall. His eyebrow is twitching again. "Fuck."

The cabin shakes from the impact as he hits the wall hard, but on his feet, rolling back down to the floor with the expression of someone who hates being locked in and is getting seriously pissed.

"...what the fuck is this place."

He glances over to Kaito.

"Hey. You got any other bright ideas here?"

"It's fucking impossible," Kaito replies. He digs around in his coat before producing his whip. He uncoils it absently. "Which is too bad. It's pretty good at keeping the bugs locked in.

"Try the wall." He points to the one next to the destroyed window. "Then the ceiling. I suppose you're useless for going through dirt, so forget the floor."

Suggestions don't seem to be going over very well. Instead, Sora stands there, fingers hooked in his beltloops, watching Kaito with a somewhat disturbingly flat smile on his face.

"You ever get the feelin' you're gonna end up workin' with Storm Riders all your life?"

Kaito's features seem to shift at the question, moving from complete disinterest to something that would almost be sweet if it weren't for the fact that Kaito's form of 'sweet' was all poisonous words and bloodstained teeth. "Since you all refuse to roll over and die properly? I figured as much a long time ago."

He laughs, skating over to lean against the wall next to the bed.

"Seriously, man, how do you stand it? Like, bein' stuck in a never-endin', losin' battle with people you hate, everyday?"

Kaito tilts his head to glance up at Sora, if being loomed over bothers him, he doesn't give much impression of it. He pulls the cigarette from between his lips and taps the ash out over the edge of the bed. "Is that bullshit how it looks to someone getting run around by a middleschool brat? My job, crushing each and every one of you one-by-one? There's nothing else in the world I'd rather do."

Still smiling, Sora doesn't really seem to care what Kaito thinks of his looming -- it's just fun to do. Hell, standing is fun to do. Ah, the simple pleasures in life... though, of course more is always better.

"Hah, you are predictable like that, ain't you? Though... I gotta wonder..."

He looks at Kaito, the expression on his face both thoughtful and amused. One could almost call it a charming expression, save for its predatory edge.

"...would a guy like you save?"
