1. Reply to this post, and I will pick three of your icons for each of your characters ONE of your characters (you can choose or just leave it to me to choose), since... y'know... dial-up. Alas.
2. I might ask specific questions about the icons! What context were they pulled from; what coloring technique you used, wtf is with those keywords, ect.
3. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
4. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
...as a note, I was a genius and downgraded Maladict's account to Basic (because I COULD), taking out half of his icons... the day before I did this. OH WELL, THIS MADE IT EASIER FOR PEOPLE. INCLUDING ME.

1. Even the cripples are shounen retards in Air Gear. This is when Sora is showing Ikki his mad skillz. (It's interesting to note that this icon is take from but a page or two after that one. |D)
2. I didn't know that we would be getting an Ine last counselor round, but this icon still needed to be made, because there was bound to be some rapey woman that Sora would piss off at camp. And then, LO AND BEHOLD there was an Ine, so now, anyone else is going to have to work really hard to get this icon. :> The keywords of "hoshit Spitfire's het GET IN THE CAR" come from, of course, the fact that Ine is terrifying. :(
3. This is from my bunch of icons for an eventual de-aging of Sora, which is going to happen at some point, because it would be SO MUCH FUN, but it isn't set for any time and probably won't be happening for a while. This is Sora being a RETARD. Because it would just be wrong not to have something representative of him being a retard.

1. This is my oldest Tatsumi icon! It's actually from the first really LJ-based (as opposed to RPing through AIM or another chat program and cleaning up and posting the logs in a blog) RP I ever did... which was the only one I ever did before CFUD, actually. I made this before I had Photoshop! So I didn't have the wonderful, beautiful multi-layered functionality that I do now, so I have, like, a million different versions of icons because I would save it between each major step. (In the RP for which I originally used it, it had some text on it.) It's from the anime, obviously, so it gets to keep its color and escape the colorization that all of Tatsumi's black-and-white icons eventually got when I started iconning the most recent art (from the sidestory), which made me really want something to unify his icons, since the art style of the manga changes drastically all the way through from beginning to end. Though I had wanted this one to look COOL, so it was edited and... I do really like how it turned out, which is why I reused it here. >D The entire area outside of the eye was desaturated to nearly black-and-white, while the saturation of the eye was slightly increased.
2. The sparklies are from the original art! You can't tell from the icon, but it's actually from a huge panel of Tatsumi in a field of fireflies. I was lucky that this one turned out as nice as it did -- a lot of the Kamakura arc, which this comes from, has very busy backgrounds that aren't very condusive to iconning. (In this one, for example, I really wanted the expression, but the background was just... way too busy and dark. I fixed it to something more satisfactory with the blur and dodge tools.)
3. Tsuzuki has a matching icon! I think... she made her icon after I did mine. But then I added my "the only home I'll ever know" keywords to go with her "and in this world of stangers I belong" keywords (from "You Are My Home" from The Scarlet Pimpernel).

1. The most painstakingly created part of this icon? That little whisp of smoke from the cigarette. XD This one is a colored version of an icon that was just a pencil sketch for a long time. And even though the original sketch was from a while ago, I liked it enough to keep it -- I really like how his expression came out.
2. ...this is one I don't like nearly as much! Another digitally colored versional of a pencil sketch that wasn't very good to start with... but I've been too lazy to redo it. Also, the metallic effect on the cup is totally out of place, but I was in an experimental mood when I was doing this one, so.
3. This one is actually one of Maladict's... uh, new-gen icons, I guess you could say. I.e. not an old sketch that was just re-opened and colored. I should post the full version of the picture I iconned this from at some point, because I really like it. As a bit of trivia, Mal's corporal stripes in this icon are British-style -- American-style, the v-shape would go in the opposite direction.

1. Once upon a time, right before LiveJournal (the company) started acting like a royal fucktard, I bought Enjolras a year's worth of paid time, despite not needing the icon space. So now, his crack icons tend to just build up because I never bother deleting them, since I'm not in need of free icon slots. This one was from the two-year camp anniversary post I did for him where people who took cake were attacked by a magical phantom water gun.
2. Looking at all of Enjolras' icons, one can probably tell that they've had... stages. This one is Version Two of this particular expression. I literally used the old icon as a template. XD The Version Ones were done... before I got a tablet, so it was inking by mouse, and despite making a living with my hands, I actually have pretty atrocious motor skills. So... yeah. In addition to just my drawing being two years older back then, the coloring methods didn't help. The Version Twos of Enjolras' icons were started when I took a book from the library on digital coloring -- this one was relatively near the beginning, I like the colors a little better, but the shading is still crap. I like the expression, though, so I'd like to just re-do the shading at some point.
3. Another Version Two, though one that really needs a "Version Three," in that I should start it from scratch. The expression is vital, but it needs to be better drawn and the shading needs to not be crap in every aspect. >.<;;
general questions for Enjolras and Maladict! Why did you choose to draw icons for these particular characters? Is there something that inspires you to draw icons?
When I first got Enjolras, I tried to use Real Person icons for him, and it just... didn't work for me. I couldn't find any celebrity (or other much-photographed person) who matched my mental image of him, using different people didn't work logically for me and the couple of acceptable photographs I could find limited his expressions for me. So, basically, I just thought, hell, I'll make my own expressions for him, that way I can have whatever I want. This... works somewhat, in that the reality of my drawing will never match up to my mental image of him from the book, but I think that I've finally settled on a combination of modeling him on this kid I saw play Enjolras in a production of Les Mis (...and I did mean kid. it was a high school production.) and bringing in the meta influence of the IDEA of Enjolras that is presented in the book (did he actually look like an anime prettyboy? probably not exactly, but he's supposed to appear to be physically attractive in the prettyboy spirit of things to the reader, so I try to be influenced by what would currently read in a similar way).
As for Maladict... well. Vampire. Discworld is not about everyone being so Fantastically Pretty, so I really don't read the vampires as being just, like, you know, Brad Pitt with fangs or something. They're a totally different species, if one relatively similar to humans. And if I couldn't find something to my satisfaction for a blond-haired, blue-eyed pretty boy, like hell I was going to be able to find an acceptable vampire soldier stand-in.
And for both... well, they're from books, and books get illustrated. Since they have no definitive/official visual representation, they basically appear like... whatever they appear to be in the head of the person reading them. That person being me, how they appear in my head is how they gain form in camp. (Particularly Enjolras, who's met people who have read his book; I tend to play him in a relatively meta-conscious manner.)

1. ...let me give you some canon.
2. To quote from one of my answers to Lina, "Once upon a time, right before LiveJournal (the company) started acting like a royal fucktard, I bought Enjolras a year's worth of paid time, despite not needing the icon space. So now, his crack icons tend to just build up because I never bother deleting them, since I'm not in need of free icon slots." This was from the post that Captain Jack Sparrow made where everyone was turned into kitchen appliances. I thought it would be both funny and appropriate for him to turn into a crème brûlèe torch.
3. This icon was made by a friend of my from the old skool Les Mis fandom. BACK IN THE DAY, MAN. It's solely for OOC use and doesn't even get used that often anymore. Just, like. How can you get rid of something like this.

1. Answered for Lina! (Running tally: chosen twice!)
2. FANGS! This one replaced the sketch I originally had as Mal's "SHOWIN' OFF THE FANGS" icon, which has been far too... dramatic. This one is meant to be SMOOTH, guys.
3. Answered for Lina! (Chosen twice!)

1. So this one was literally a spur-of-the-moment, five-minute shoop down for this thread/post. It has since become one of the icons for my regular journal (which is a basic account, so yeah, out of six slots, this is filling one of them) and my representative icon for me on everything ever (e.g. gchat, lastfm, etc.).
2. One of Tatsumi's older icons! (Well, the black-and-white version was one of the older ones; it got the colorizing with everything else, of course.) It just seemed like a... necessary sort of icon. |D The "that river in Egypt" keywords come from the icon's context, where Tatsumi was touching Tsuzuki inappropriately in the office, as he is wont to do, only this time, Tsuzuki ran off crying about what a horrible person Tatsumi is, and after putting the fingers that have touched Tsuzuki's face to his lips, Tatsumi storms off thusly, being all "WHATEVER. I DON'T CARE. I'M BUSY. >/" So yes, his huge level of fail-denial is totally canon.
3. ...canon image of Tatsumi grabbing Hisoka's blindfolded dad from behind. >.>
......okay, so it was because he was about to trip and fall, but it really does look just as... questionable in canon as it does here. Tatsumi totally harbors troublesome feelings for Nagare -- Watari even calls him on it. The "all the words we don't want to hear" keywords come from "It's A Dangerous Game" from Jekyll and Hyde.

1. From the hospital arc! Sora was just ATTACKED so Ikki and Ringo RUSH TO THE HOSPITAL to SEE IF HE’S OKAY... and Sora is just there, mackin’ on the nurses in the most shameless manner imagineable. This icon follows very shortly thereafter. The "it gets to be THIS BIG" keywords are... because he totally looks like he he could be telling a tall tale about a fish or... something. >.>
2. I loev Oh! Great's chibis. This one is actually Ikki being all "SHOW ME THE ONE TRUE WAY, MASTER" but the "UNTIL MORALE IMPROVES” keywords sort of include another incident from the same arc, which is this wonderfully shounen retarded training panel with Sora just... beating on and yelling at Ikki, who is curled up in bed and being a brat.

You're too young to understand it now, but nothing can kill a show like too much exposition.", which is from the show's expositionary prologue.
2. I don't use this one very often, but it's still a hand icon, in that it manages to be non-comically pissed off without... going into hyper-rape mode or anything. I. Really don't have much to say about this one. XD
3. Answered for Firo! (Running tally: chosen twice!)

1. This is Version Two of an icon of Enjolras of the same expression, redrawn with newly learned coloring techniques. That I didn't quite have down at the point at which I made this one, as the shading is rather... splotchy. I'd like to redo the shading, because I think this is Enjolras' sexiest icon. :>
2. Another Version Two icon! This one... almost never gets used. Because it's so happy. And smiling. But it's also one of the ones I like best as far as character design goes.
3. ...this was from waaaaaay back in the beginning, when I was attempting to use Real People for Enjolras' icons. That didn't end up working out. But I just can't bring myself to get rid of him standing on top of a table, loudlysinging shouting at people.

1. This one is from... I don't know what you'd call it. It's not story art! It's from one of those character-list type thingies in... one of the relatively later chapters, and this is the image used to represent Tatsumi. I love it. It's so pissy and greedy and bitchy. :>
2. This icon! The "glasses-adjust 2" icon! Despite its generic keywords, it actually has a fairly specific usage -- whenever it pops up, Tatsumi is attempting to cover himself up somehow, trying to hide some sort of emotional-ness.
3. ...god, I can't remember where this one is from (aside from is being probably volumes 3-6) but. He's being evil, whatever it is. So gleefully evil. For all of his inner woobiness, Tatsumi can be a pretty terrible person a lot of the time, and I love it.
These three icons were all answered for Lina! Man, only having six icons for a character really cuts down on the work... XD

2. I LOVE THIS ICON. It's from the day-in-the-life-of-Tatsumi sidestory, so the art style is pretty dramatically different, which is what led me to colorizing all of Tatsumi's manga icons in an attempt to unify them. But. He's just. Contemplating fish. THERE ARE FISH. It's for when Tatsumi is seriously contemplating stupid/petty things.
3. One of Tatsumi's de-aged icons, this is from a Yagyuu/Niou (Prince of Tennis) doujinshi by Negahyst. Yagyuu seemed to be a good match for a de-aged Tatsumi, and Prince of Tennis doujin is relatively... abundant. I really liked the colors in this cover!

1. AHAHA I love this icon so much. So it was supposed to be just a one-shot sort of thing for this post nearly two years ago but. It just ended up staying. It functions as a blank icon of sorts. I also have a black blank icon for Enjolras, but that tends to get used for actual unconsciousness, darkness or serious drama. The "book'd!" icon is more of a comical ". . . .", as well as often used for giving information/answers OOCly and occasionally for being informational ICly.
2. ...this one had turned out to be not useful at all. I... don't think it's ever been used, actually! It's for those "Enjolras just got raped/brainraped" moments, but so far, camp hasn't been able to reduce the revolutionary to saying "make it stop D:". THIS ICON HAS NO PURPOSE. They keywords take their inspiration from an Enjolras/Grantaire hurt/comfort fic that featured prisonrape. I... oh fandom of the past.
3. As the "This is my heroic pose." keywords imply, this icon is generally reserved for when Enjolras is grandstanding somehow. Think of them as his Rosalyn moments.

1. SORA'S FIRST ICON. This one took a fair amount of work, actually, as there was text across his back, so I needed to erase all of it and redraw his left shoulderblade. But it was too sexy to pass up. I was... dumb? Somehow? And didn't have an emblem for his current team pulled for iconning. But I loved his tattoo and felt that it was representative enough.
2. Third time chosen! Answered for Firo.
3. I love this icon. I've only gotten to use it once, but it was the appropriate icon for the appropriate time (this thread **SPOILER WARNING... vague-ish, but it's there**). It's for when Sora is well and truly pissed... and partially at himself. It's a really unpleasant sort of anger (for both it's external target and himself) that rarely gets given vent. And... actually, this one took a good deal of work, as well, since it was very dark, with a lot of shadows and a very busy background. It took blurring and lightening the background and playing around a lot with contrast and saturation to get it to be even vaguely decipherable.
2. I might ask specific questions about the icons! What context were they pulled from; what coloring technique you used, wtf is with those keywords, ect.

1. ...let me give you some canon.
The audacity to die well always moves men. The moment Enjolras had crossed his arms, accepting the end, the uproar of the conflict in the room and all that chaos suddenly hushed into a sort of sepulchral solemnity. It seemed as though the menacing majesty of Enjolras, disarmed and motionless, wieghed on that tumult, and as though, merely by the authority of his tranquil eye, this young man, who alone had no wound, superb, bloody, fascinating, indifferent as if he were invulnerable, compelled that sinister mob to kill him respectfully. His beauty, augmented at that moment by his dignity, was resplendent, and, as if he could not mroe be fatigued than wounded, after the terrible twenty-four hours just elapsed, he was fresh and healthy. Perhaps it was of him that the witness spoke who said afterward before the court-martial, "Three was one insurgent whom I heard called Apollo." A National Guard who was aiming at Enjolras dropped his weapon, saying, "It is as though I'm about to shoot a flower." [emphasis mine]Obviously, what I took from that was "HAHAHAHA THEY CALL HIM A FLOWER that's so freakin' gay." I turned him into a sentient/talking flower a while back as a camp effect, and the icon just... stayed.
